Open the eyes of our hearts to see and to know,
the love and preciousness of Christ, which, immeasurably, from Your Spirit flows.
You opened the eyes of a man born blind,
rejected and disowned–then came the miracle none could describe,
no, not the Pharisee nor the intellectual scribe.
You found him and opened the eyes of his heart wide and bright;
for this was the true miracle: his heavenly sight.
The beauty of this miracle is the blind man was me,
but by the greatness of Your love, though once blind, by grace alone, I now see!
“Now ‘come see a Man’ Who opened my eyes,”
it is Him the religious and wicked despise.
Precious in our sight, our hearts behold
the Good Shepherd in His might, forever safe in His fold.
